Stewardship
The LCMS definition of Stewardship is: "the free and joyous activity of the child of God and God's family, the church, in managing all of life and life's resources for God's purposes."
Atonement Stewardship exists to help members of Atonement to grow over time as managers (stewards) of the gifts, resources, and God-given abilities in response to God’s love so that Christ’s kingdom may be glorified in the Northwest Valley.
Here are the ways we do so:
Consecrated Stewards: This is an annual pledge drive in which we encourage our members to joyfully support our church financially.
The Change Jar: Each month the congregation places donations into a large water bottle in the church entry. These donations go to a variety of wonderful missions, and the Stewardship Committee matches the donations up to $125.
First Fruits: The committee encourages each fund-raising group to give part of their profit to First Fruits, a fund used to help people within our own community who are in financial need.
Homeless Fund: The committee buys food gift cards to assist people in need who come to our church for help.
Time and Talents Survey: A database has been formed in which the skills, talents and resources of church members are documented. New members are encouraged to be a part of this valuable resource.
Offering Envelopes: Provided to every member / family in the congregation.
Mentoring Program: Through this program, members of our confirmation class are taught about stewardship and are encouraged to sign up for service within our church.
Ways to Engage - Join our board and volunteer to help promote the programs!
Current Stewardship Board:
Keith Hathaway (Chairman) and Andrew Sielaff.
