Board of Elders
The basic objective of this Board is to assist the Pastor in all matters
pertaining to the spiritual welfare of the Congregation, in the administration
of the sacraments, and to ensure that all services are conducted with an
attitude conducive to worship.
The Parish Education Committee
This committee provides teacher-training classes for those interested in
teaching Sunday school, conducts Vacation Bible School, establishes the nursery
roll and expands the adult education program. It serves as a Christian education
liaison between Early Childhood, School and the Church Council. This committee
assists the Pastor in all matters pertaining to Christian education and
institutes accurate record keeping in all areas of education.
The Parish Life Committee
The Parish Life Committee ministers to people in this congregation, our
local community and the world community through agencies of the Church. It
promotes and plans receptions for new members and congregational social
functions. This Committee encourages active participation of old and new members
and winter worship visitors in acquainting them with the activities of the
congregation.
The Physical Facilities Committee
This committee is responsible for the maintenance and improvement of the
congregational property, to keep the property insured and protected against loss
and damage, and to establish policies for the use and rental of the church
property.
The Stewardship Committee
The Stewardship Committee works to discover individual talents of the
Congregation’s members. It promotes the wise use of time, talents and
possessions to the glory of God and the work of the church. It reviews and
approves all fund raising groups within the congregation and helps facilitate
their goals.
The Inreach - Outreach Committee
The Community Outreach Committee works to raise the visibility of the
congregation through our web-site, media advertising, direct mail and
neighborhood awareness. It will develop and implement programs to assist all
members of the congregation in their personal evangelism efforts.
The Worship Committee
The Worship Committee assures that all worship is respectful to the
Christ-centered nature of worship. It appoints leaders and provides for the
training and supervision of ushers, greeters, nursery attendants, acolytes, the
Altar Guild, choirs (voice and bell), organists, pianists and other musicians.
This committee preserves and approves the church furniture, works of art,
worship aides, vestments, paraments and memorials. |
